About Iriga City
Iriga, officially the City of Iriga, is in the province of Camarines Sur, in the Bicol region of the Philippines.
It lies about 400 kilometres south-east of Manila and about 33 kilometres south of Naga City.
In downtown Iriga, the City Park sits near the cathedral and across from the old City Hall: a landscaped, Japanese-themed park whose big fountain was later replaced with a skating rink. Its acacia trees are lit with colored lights at Christmas.
Around the park are shops and landmarks such as the Lourdes Grotto, which offers a great view of downtown.
The city has a number of waterfalls and springs, and the local cooking uses coconut milk and red chili peppers in meat and vegetarian dishes.
